I’ve been taking part in the activities over at Puzzle Clubhouse. While nobody liked my game proposal (of an octopus sprinkler, struggling to fend off gnomes approaching from all directions, seeking to smother it), they are now taking art submissions. so I thought I’d draw something. wee. Thus, this guy. Gnormal. It occurs to me now that I need to color him. hmmf. and I see these damned little wiggles in the lines (especially around his left hand). why is it my wacom does this, and i never see it in anyone else’s? is my shit broken? some setting borked? hrumf.
Here is a the original sketch.
You can see the first idea for an “evil gnome” on the left. I was trying for Mark Silvestri’s grinning critters from The Darkness. And it just looked like a cheap knock off of that. yep. also reminded me of bullshit highschool skater/stoner art. which i hate. so i thought “why not just draw a normal gnome?”
wah-lah. blah blah. on the right.
I also doodled a quick comic of Gnormal fighting a garden invader. not sure how much polish to apply. but. hoping to post it tomorrow, one way or t’ other.
