I’d originally planned to have a caption on the final frame. that read “His options exhausted, the doctor reaches back into his mind, and wonders what he would do to make this match more interesting where he watching from the stands.”
For some reason I was thinking he would be thinking back to his own time in the stands, but it looks just like one of the many doctor mutant clones. I don’t know why I thought that was a good idea.
Preferred to offer an ambiguous memory of him outside his tests tubes, enjoying some observation. feels more personal.
… buttttt it’s probably so ambiguous that it has no weight and no one will enjoy it. hmm. art is hard. whatev.
since I’m being all negative and honest, might as well mention that I dug up this picture for ref for the first frame. Frazetta’s Queen of the Nile Did this for the last (well proportioned) hero shot of the wife as well. different shot in that case. but.
since these seem to look soooOOOOOoo much closer to how I wanted this to look, maybe I should be digging up more reference all the time. hrumf. feels like cheating though.
