well, if your’e gonna phone it in… why not just scan the doodle.
this was actually much faster than i expected (the process of turning on my scanner. scanning. and tweaking the result). So fast, in fact, that I’m 99% sure i’ll be returning to paper/pen are for whatever I do after BloodSugar is up.
soo, uh. yeah.
this is a doodle i whipped out quickly. Were I to do what I usually do when phoning in a comic at midnight, bleary eyed and desperate for sleep, i would: quickly redraw the doodle with my cintiq. maybe flesh in some thickness, then erase/tweak a bit to slightly overcome the “drawn by a 3 year old with crayons” look.
and sometimes i find myself enjoying the way it’s going, and falling into some serious drawing.
which can take up to an hour some times.
sooo.
no way. i need sleep.
scanning and tweaking this: took maybe 5 minutes from power-on to winSCP upload. (maybe 2 minutes?)
yay!
blah.
the idea here is that the cockroach dudes stroll along, ankle deep in the fluid from all the broken test tubes. then they encounter some radioactive robots from the arena. in the final frame, we maybe make out the entrance to the arena.
I hope to go back and polish later.
(it seems I often think “I’m going to go home and just polish every strip i’ve skipped over tonight!” At least 3 times a week. but instead i get home and eat and watch movies/tv and play video games instead. until midnight. sigh).
(tonight i meant to write a bit on a script, but when the wireless internet failed me i switched over to uploading old videos on me mac. But before that, I watched Joss Whedon’s Glee episode. and the Fringe Finale part 2).
uh. blah.
p.s. here is the doodle for yesterday’s strip, so you can see what I mean (Accidentally scanned it when scanning today’s).
… I kinda prefer the doodles…
