woof. another day, another late night whipping out the art as fast as i can.
I went back and tweaked yesterday’s slightly. Really wasn’t happy with it’s initial “cat faces”. they were too detailed. and placid. So i basically defined some shapes, and tried to make it look more clearly pissed off. like it was losing a fight. The arm chop and back slice are still probably too dense for people to really make out (hopefully at higher res, in the final book printing, it’ll be clearer?). I also changed the final caption to more clearly mention the clawbots and that we are back in the arena.
Today’s strip was… well, clearly rushed.
The idea is that we start with the Lynxian’s corpse on the left. thought I could get away with silhouette since it was a dead husk being drained of blood. In theory I was supposed to show the blood being processed in the middle. heh. but i just drew a simple cup and whatever decanter/bubble-tube-thing in the background. and an eye dropper. heh?
then we see the recipient on the right. … I feel this needs to be made more clear. This is more than a simple blood transfusion. this is a fucked up genetic experiment. ehhh. but i’m not sure how to convey this factoid. caption? … maybe she should be purring? (but that seems too silly. too far from how the real science would work. ehh).
hmm.
it’s a pickle. anywho. it’s after midnight. gotta get up in six hours and stumble around exhausted for most of the work day. woof.
tomorrow, hopefully, this sequence will all make a bit more sense. :)
