woohoo! alriiiight! 50 strips in! that makes us… not that far along really. eek. (not even a quarter of the way. oof!)
Well. The idea here, textually, was to drive home my personal views on science. that it is just a modern replacement for old religion. Again, I don’t strive to crap on religion or science. I think they’re both cute. which i guess, is like crapping on both of them. eh. oh well. sorry.
BloodSugar 2016: its for no one!
Visually, i thought it’d be fun to just move the “camera” a very small amount. I spend most of my energy on these comics wondering how to keep the framing interesting. I’m lightly terrified of falling into a rut of repetitive “shots.” So, for me, I really dig how this one has little pieces of the wife’s brow, and the guy’s chin. To show that the camera just dropped very slightly. I really think that is AWESOME. (no really).
though, I suppose it’s not the kind of thing anyone could be expected to notice. hmm. It’s weird to think about how different my comic-creation is from my comic-reading.
p.s. easter egg, I wanted there to be a hint in the final panel that someone was watching them. Despite their faith in science, they don’t know that they’re being watched. In my mind, this is the kids, emerging from the back room to find their parents very much in love. but. If the reader mistook this for more intruders, or didn’t notice it at all: it’s allllll good. wee.
