While I do like the art here. for being varied, and fetishistic. I’m not sure it tells the story well. And the text is maybe too dense. The idea is he’s running some tests on strange old machines, and she’s suffering from her condition. Unaware.

When i wrote this, it seemed like a nice cap to the previous two strips. But now, viewed by itself, it seems like there should be something more.
Maybe I just should have split it up more. orr….
I dunno. I spend a lot of time moving these text boxes around and wondering heavily about the MEANING and IMPORTANCE of their position. I blame a design teacher in college for instilling this obsession.

I think this strip tells exactly the story that you were shooting for. In reference to the text boxes… I generally view them as “sound overlays”, if you will, where they represent a narration and I do not “see” them as part of the picture. And it never occured to me that their positioning had any meaning, other than function: top-to-bottom, left-to-right to represent the order they should be read…
