Again, I find it hard to bite the bullet and start dumping in the heavy blacks.

Is it clear he’s washing her with the washcloth? that repeatedly dipping it in the water is what has turned the waters color? Is it ominous that he’s dipping his bare hand into boiling water (i just meant to imply he’s distracted and tough, really).
Originally, it was planned as three panels of boiling water. just steamy water, hand with wash cloth, bloody water. It occurred to me recently that this would be kinda boring. So I thought It’d be better to risk being a little more confusing. Show the victim a bit. Without showing the bloody problem the captions are referring to. Leave something up to the imagination.
but. I never can tell when i’m leaving too much or too little. hmmf.
