This was one from the original napkin sketches.

Again just trying to tell a story bout 2 dudes walking. they encounter a lump in the flat wasteland. see how they deal. one just goes, offers to help the second guy. second awkwardly hands his leg out – so the first guy just watches.

the giant step in the first frame is my nod to old bloom county cartoons, where everyone walked around … cartoonishly.

… it occurs to me that I should have setup something, ANYTHING, at the very start, so that there was some ticking timebomb in the back of your mind. As it stands, people may just be reading these initial strips, thinking they’ll just be served up a meditation on speechless unfunny “dudes walking” for years. which i guess nobody wants. In theory it’ll be fun to go back and read these first strips once the stories all wrap up. but.

hmm. even if i misled the audience, i guess it needs more of a hook right off the bat. maybe some narration bubbles over the first strip? eh. maybe a slight sense of where they started out from. hmm.
