Partic-u-lars: (a quick boring note, just in case my memory fails)
For now, I don’t want to comment on story points/details, or what I’m trying to do with this strip. But for posterity, I want to note how the creative process is changing tonight.
Up until now, I’ve been coasting towards the predetermined plot twists on gut instincts and guesses. I’ve been trying to take my time. Because I usually rush it. Basically seeing what seemed best at late hours, when i was eager to sleep. Often having a few rough sketches and dialogue/action notes on a paper near my computer, to keep me on track. I wrote down all the major predetermined plot twists last week on my trusty yellow notepad (as a numbered list), just to make sure I got every story point out before the strip’s countdown ran out. And to see what might need some extra oompf, to hold attentions. (but now i’m not sure where that paper went).
Some friends/readers recently let me know that they haven’t really been enjoying this strip so far. SoooOOOoooo, fuck. fail. (meh?). SooOOoo, tonight I sat down and wrote out scripts for the next couple weeks. I think it’s clear I’m failing to make each individual strip stand on it’s own. if someone stumbled by, they probably wouldn’t be “hooked” into what is going on. I’m not plannig to make things more obvious, but am struggling with how to punch up each entry so it sort of stands on it’s own. hope hope.
anywho. we’ll seeeeee! weeeee!!!!
