Heh. Originally this was just going to stick with the two of them staring at cute kitties, who are off camera. They were to have cute watery eyes in the last panel. from all the cuteness. of kittens.
but while whipping it together, ian looked over my shoulder and said “done”. and I agreed. I tried removing Disky from panel 3 and then having just a large viddy in panel 4. but it seemed to imply that Disky had flipped out, and gone off to do something horrible to the kitties. meh.
as it is now, i like to think panel 4 is like a trippy montage from some old horror movie. where a girl screams, and we fade to a closer shot of her still screaming. wee.
for some reason this makes me laugh.
alternately, it seems to be just the right amount of weird.
I made the title garfield, because, on some level, i hate myself for making a comic book about the cuteness of cats. i almost dropped the title, because i don’t want to be seen as ripping off the brilliant “garfield without garfield” comics. but. whatev. i don’t think this is the first reference the strip suggests. BLAH BLAH.
