INsights: woof. star whores time. what else is there to say?

I noticed today that no cool people quote the star wars prequels. and nobody knows what i’m talking about when I quote the prequels extensively. for humor. I gargled “UNNNNLIMITEDDDD POWWWWWWER!” at my girlfriend as we drove around downtown Portland, and she tried to smile and act like i wasn’t being crazy.

The idea here was really just to riff on that “maybe i killed a jedi” line from the prequels. But as I typed it out, I couldn’t help but make Annie into a hick. And once i picked “jedguy” (absently pondering infringements, and lameness, of using the proper geek nounage), i thought it best to stick with it through the frames. to lessen confusion. So I wanted to go with Jedeye (Jedye?) for the whole strip, for the eye/optical nod, but once Annie went to hick town, I had to stick with it. hmm. weird feeling of being trapped by obscure logic. yay, art!

In other news, I’ve been meaning to start posting movie reviews in the main vidHero site’s news blog (which is separate from this area, btw)(nudge nudge). Because it ties into an idea i’m delving into with the vidHero script – that Todd is an online critic by day, vigilante critic by night. And I was captivated earlier tonight by the thought of writing up my thoughts on The Prequels. But then exhausted by the realization that it’d have to be a pretty fucking epic and perfect review if I was going to dare post it openly on the internetssss. still debating. I think i have several points to make about the prequels that I haven’t seen anyone bring up. Anakin being a total yokel, for example. Which makes no sense based on the cadence of his speech in later films, as Lord Vader. hmm. But mostly I want to rant about how Lucas has genuinely awesome ideas, and the details of realizing his ideas should probably be forgiven. says me.
