INsights:
So, I had this dream last night.
When we roommates all bumped into each other this morning, dreams were shared. And I said I dreamt that I was at this loud angry D&D game where we were just roleplaying normal life. “I open the bathroom door” “roll d6″ “ok” “You fail” “Ok, now what?” “You piss yourself i guess”. etc. What’s weird is, some small voice keeps telling me “no, i don’t think that’s really what you were dreaming about.”
Technically, There’s not much to this one. I originally wrote our 4 everyday tasks that i thought were funny. and may use for future strips. It’s so weird trying to decide whether a trivial detail is worth holding on to for future bullshit comedy attempts. hmm. Anywho. I looked at the script with it’s series of back-and-forths for each frame, and recalled that people hate reading. so i just picked one and made it the whole thing. So there could be some dead space.
I thought i was going to make the “new art element” be Viddy eating some cereal. But WHOA that’d be work. instead i just tried to make a less perky open-mouth for the second frame. I want to show an open mouth whenever someone speaks, but haven’t made many variations. Also doodled around with different ideas for viddy’s mouth in the third frame, to show that it was in a state of not speaking (to contrast the final frame). Tried several things but decided a simple grey was the most in tune. Didn’t draw too much attention to itself.
Anywho. woof! So this is an impulse comic. Not written or thought about for very long at all. Which usually leads to the most liked comics. … but in this case, i keep thinking “D&D humor? really? fuck.”
… I also wonder : has this joke already been done? hmm. And there are dashes of psychotic overthinking mixed in about the exact wording, and whether i should be explaining better. but today is not the day where i go into excessive detail about such overthinkings.
