I finally put the first issue of VidHero to bed, and this is how i feel. Disky being the sick realist, i thought he should say it.

The gag is to run a gross point into the ground. Personally i hate poop jokes. but i’ll laugh at anything if you run it into the ground repeatedly.

Visually, I wanted to push in on Disky for to enhance the focus he has on this concept. and so in the final frame i could just transition to a shot of what’s going on his guts. That’s the idea of the final frame : you’re seeing his new organ. Initially i thought i’d show intestines and testicles and a uterus. but, eh, ugh, too much work? lazy? i dunno. Something about the uterus just appeals to me, so i didn’t think i HAD to go further. Maybe it isn’t clear that he’s talking about a new step in transexual evolution - but maybe that is ok.

… in other news, i keep MEANING to hop from photoshop to illustrator to make these. but this was yet another last minute baby, which means i don’t have the time to make this jump. (this jump will mean remaking everything made in a painting program with a vector art program).

someday soon though. must do this. it should help keep me away from losing the hard line art style.

excessive note: perhaps i should mention (for posterity dear, what else? for the voices, you say?) that I wrote this late last night instead of using a new script. I would have whipped it out then, but i was genuinely exhausted. i really did feel very weird, having finally stopped the endless tweaking of the vidHero comic. Then i slept in. Then i started doing the art around 9pm, but got distracted by fun and food. Then sat down and finished the fucker right around the cusp of midnight.
