INsights:Well, a gaggle of friends went to see Indie4 together. I really hated it. So on the drive home i blurted out a bunch of plot problems from the movie that struck me as funny. I recall there was laughter. maybe. But my friend Jonason said the funniest thing, which i stole for the punchline here. I think i said something like “I liked that the kid was named Mutt. But it’s kinda forced. What’s the next Jones kid going to be called? Stray? Dog?” And Jonason blurted out something like “BITCH! that’s right, i’m Bitch Jones!”
It’s hard to convey his deadpan timing, but everyone erupted in the giggles. So as we all headed upstairs and settled in for Rock Band and chatting, i ran into my room and whipped up this strip.
Art wise, I’m not proud. Just drew the first sillouhette quickly with the Cintiq, then erased from it for the subsequent frames. Was planning to draw the last two frames with a human shape wearing a beanie, but decided i didn’t have time to try and draw a human-esque face in color. So i popped in Viddy, and mangled a quick sillouhette of his head.
It really struck me at this point that viddy’s head doesn’t remotely resemble a video tape. hmm.
