STRIPS STRIPPED: Blood/Sugar 2016

This is a portion of a script from a few weeks back that : didn’t work. I don’t know if this works (The idea that filmy is dropping in to blast out his big idea/solution). But i find the notion of dog fucking : funny. I wish i could have just ended it after the second frame. Because the last two are pretty gay. but. I didn’t. AND SO YOU MUST SUFFER!

Graphically, I thought Filmy should explode on the scene, but while snooping through photoshop filter effects for “wind blast” (to implement a trick Alan Winston once showed me for his Bravado Entertainment logo) I was distracted by the simple wavy polar coordinate striping (seen in yellow). I messed with clamping down the saturation to try and imply that certain characters were taking the back seat during that frame. meh.

Um. In more detail: the original strip was written such that all of the above was crammed into the first two panels, more as Viddy giving a history lesson. AAAANNNNNDDD, Disky was chiming in with his history lesson concerning the humor discovered in shooting Viddy in the head. The third panel was planned as a cartoony display of the show in action (ie, a mother watching with pride while three hitler heads did something intently just below panel. There was a show tagline at the bottom of this panel saying either “They find puppies in the strangest places,” or “This Friday night, they’ll fuck their way into your heart.” The final panel was just Disky shooting Viddy in the head.

This was all conceived back before someone advised me that there was wayyyy too much text in the new strips for anyone to conceive of enjoy the laborious task of simply reading them (and thinking through the text). It also struck me that i should look up the history of the swastika before making bold claims (hinduism and jainism weren’t mentioned, for example). And I skipped it because nazi jokes are almost as tired as gay jokes. Which is to say : no more than once a month.
