INsights: The idea here was to break the forth wall and start explaining some of the concepts. These two guys are representations of a VCR tape and CD or DVD. But was soon as they realize they are symbolic representations of visual recording formats, their eyes melt off. … it is hard to explain why this makes sense to me. Because they are visual representations of visual representation storage mediums. hmm. Something about that makes my brain want to melt. But it’s not “deep” enough for proper brain meltdown. And for some reason, in my mind, eyeballs are like little brains. like the first line of defense against brain problems.

hmm.

I suppose I also just thought it would be a funny alternative to any sort of text based conceptual closure. In a way (a big way) these first 15 strips were each a different approach to fucking around with the standard web/sunday comic’s story/joke telling format. Each is exploring it’s own approach to screwing with the standards.

Tangent: i really loved the font i used for the strip title. Some sort of “metropolitan” knock off I found online. I was unable to find the same font, years later when i resurrected the strip. Having switched computers. damnit.  I’m tempted to go in and carefully trace it. but for now, the strip is getting by with a similar but inferior version. Part of me thinks i should do any psychotic detail work until the strip has some form of notable audience. oof.
